🤔 BEST TIME TO TRAVEL TO RIBEIRA SACRA

Any time of year is good to visit the Ribeira Sacra, but if you have to choose a time, it would be either spring or autumn.

WHAT TO DO IN RIBEIRA SACRA

A place where rivers meet priceless Romanesque monuments, which, together with its ancient vineyards, form this captivating destination well worth exploring. Ribeira Sacra offers a wide variety of leisure and gastronomic experiences, and a broad range of top-quality local products distinguished by their protected designation of origin. Enjoy the views of the Sil Canyons from a viewpoint, kayak along the Miño or Sil rivers, visit a winery and savor the wines with Protected Designation of Origin (PDO), go hiking and immerse yourself in the landscape (we recommend the Mao River route or the Romanesque route) .

🌮 YOU CAN'T LEAVE RIBEIRA SACRA WITHOUT TRYING

If you visit the Ribeira Sacra, you can't leave without trying lacón con grelos, a typical Galician dish made with different cuts of pork and local vegetables. Another typical Galician dish is pulpo a la gallega (Galician-style octopus); empanadas in all their variations, caldo gallego (Galician broth), and merluza a la gallega (Galician-style hake) are also well-known dishes in this and other Galician provinces. We also recommend trying any of the local cheeses, especially Cebreiro, Arzúa, or Tetilla. To accompany these delicacies, nothing beats the local wines and the characteristic Galician coffee liqueur. For dessert, we recommend roscón de reyes (ring-shaped pastry) and Guitiriz sponge cake .

👁🗨 CURIOSITIES OF RIBEIRA SACRA

Don't leave without visiting the Cabo do Mundo viewpoint: one of the most photographed viewpoints in the Ribeira Sacra. Many of those breathtaking photos were taken from here; enjoying a sunset from this spot is something everyone should experience at least once in their life.
